At the heart of everything we cook is a commitment to community. The dishes you enjoy at our restaurants are made possible by the dedication of local farmers, growers, and artisans who produce fresh, responsibly grown ingredients for our kitchens.


We’re proud to collaborate with local farms and purveyors that share our values — people who care deeply about the land, their craft, and the food they produce. This month we’re shining a light on a few of the local partners that help us bring our seasonal menus to life. Check out the full purveyor spotlight below!

Purveyor Spotlight


Sauvie Island Growers


Just a short drive from Portland, Sauvie Island Growers provides us with a rotating selection of high quality, fresh cut salad greens alongside a seasonal selection of produce. The soil they grow in has been in organic production for over 15 years. Right now you'll find their salad greens on the menu at Shalom Y'all alongside their turnips, squash, and radishes.





Our Table Cooperative


Our Table is a worker- and member-owned cooperative in Sherwood, Oregon, dedicated to community supported food systems. They've been growing certified organic produce since they took over the property in 2011 and are currently working towards Biodynamic Certification. They grow a large array of produce throughout the year but right now you'll find a host of their seasonal vegetables on the menu at Shalom Y'all. If you're in the Sherwood area you can stop by their farm store to purchase their produce, you don't even need to be a member of the co-op to shop the store!





Gathering Together Farm


Located in Philomath, Gathering Together Farm is a beloved Oregon mainstay. They started growing produce over thirty years ago... Now you can find their organic produce at farmers markets, restaurants, and grocery stores all over the Willamette Valley. They care deeply about tending for the land, their team, and the communities they serve. You can visit their farmstand or their farm-to-table restaurant right on the farm just outside of Philomath, Oregon. Stop by Yalla and you can sample their salad greens and a mix of seasonal vegetables.





PDX Seedhouse


PDX Seedhouse is doing some really cool stuff! They started out in 2014 right here in Portland, Oregon on a mission to preserve culturally significant seed varieties. They're working to ensure rare and resilient seed varieties continue to flourish for generations to come. They sell seeds for some of the coolest produce you can hope to grow!


One example of which you can find on the menu at MEC right now... Makah Ozette potatoes are a very rare, nearly extinct, potato variety. It is believed to be the oldest potato grown in the PNW region. The Makah people from the Neah Bay region of Washington have cultivated the potato for over 200 years and the folks at PDX Seedhouse are working diligently to keep this heirloom varietal going.





Portland Microgreens


Portland Microgreens was started by Preston Davis in November 2021. Believe it or not, the whole operation started in Preston's 250 sqft spare bedroom... Business has gone well and Portland Microgreens has since evolved into a local mainstay that serves over 40 Portland restaurants. They produce a stunning variety of micro herbs, sprouts, and edible flowers that add vibrant color, nutrition, and texture to our plates. Farm-fresh flavor grown right here in the city. You'll find their microgreens garnishing a number of dishes from the menu at MEC. They also have product for personal use available for pickup at their location in NE Portland.





Harvest Moon Mushrooms


Harvest Moon Mushrooms is a small urban farm located in Buckman neighborhood specializing in growing gourmet mushrooms. They produce a wide variety of different species for supplement use and nourishment.


All of their mushrooms are grown on a combination of wood and soy. After the lifecycle is complete, they recycle the spent fruiting blocks (the things mushrooms are grown in) to a local gardener who breaks them down and turns them into soil amendment products for growing plants! We're currently serving their Maitaki and Oyster mushrooms on the menu at Shalom Y'all!
